Pattern for Victorian Lady's Girdle or Belt from Petersons, Oct. 1860
This new and pretty affair
is intended especially for those ladies to whom the short round waist in
unbecoming, or for those who object to an untrimmed body. It is laced up the
front; the under–point, and the little jacket–piece at the back falling over
the skirt; the remainder of the band trims the full, short–waisted body over
which it is worn—the points coming up the front and back forming a very
pretty outline. The half is cut in four pieces, as shown in the above
engraving, from A to B, C to D, E to F. The dotted lines , in our next
engraving...form the pleats behind, and the two pieces, AA and BB, should be
joined together.
