Princess Alexandra of Denmark became Princess of Wales in 1863 when she married Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (son of Queen Victoria). When Queen Victoria died in 1901, Albert Edward became King Edward VII and Alexandra became his "Queen consort."

The most powerful woman in the world, Alexandra was a woman of many interests. She involved herself in politics as she was able, set fashion trends throughout the world, was extremely busy with charity work, and took up woodworking and photography.
